How the daily challenge works

Each UTC day, every player faces the same ten wave layouts, with the same special blocks and predetermined power-up locations. Your paddle movement and timing decide the outcome. Classic Arcade remains a separate unlimited run up to level 150.

Daily reset and attempts

The challenge resets at 00:00 UTC. You can make unlimited attempts, but only your single highest submitted total for that UTC date appears on the daily Challenge leaderboard. Previous daily results remain historical records; they do not carry into the new day. If the day rolls over during your run, restart with the new challenge to submit a result.

Exactly how points are calculated

You earn regular block and wave points while playing. Consecutive hits raise the combo multiplier (up to ×6). Finish all ten waves to unlock four additional bonuses. You may still save an unfinished run’s base score, but it receives no finish bonuses.

TOTAL = BASE + COMPLETION + LIVES + TIME + ACCURACY

Base points + combo

Bricks, damage to multi-hit bricks and wave-clear rewards produce the base score. The current combo multiplier is already applied to earned brick points: it is not added a second time.

Completion bonus

Finish wave 10 to receive exactly +1,000 points. Ending early gives +0.

Remaining lives

On completing wave 10, gain +200 points for each remaining life (maximum 5 lives, so up to +1,000). You start with 3 lives. Extra lives can be earned from some waves and power-ups.

Active playing time

On completion, receive max(0, 2,400 − 2 × ceil(active seconds)). Only time when the ball is in play counts; paused and between-wave screens do not. The maximum is +2,400 points, reaching zero at 20 minutes.

Paddle accuracy

On completion, get round(600 × paddle returns ÷ (paddle returns + lost balls)). Each successful paddle contact counts as a return; every ball that falls out of play counts as a lost ball, including multiball. If there are no attempts, this bonus is zero. Maximum +600.

Scoring example

A player finishes all ten waves with 4,820 base points (including combo), 3 lives, 420 active seconds, 50 successful paddle returns and 2 lost balls:

Fair competition and ranking

All users receive the same daily starting layouts. Power-up blocks are generated deterministically from the date. Players can replay freely. Rankings show the top ten submitted results, one best entry per anonymous browser player ID per day. You may use a nickname of up to 18 characters. Changing browser or clearing its storage creates a new player identity.

Important limitations

This is a casual browser competition, not a prize or cash tournament. Scores are submitted by the browser and checked for format, limits and submission frequency; they are not cryptographically verified by the server. Suspicious or inappropriate entries may be removed. Daily results and personal stats require an active database connection.
