The goal: clear the blocks and keep the ball alive
Move the paddle beneath the ball and bounce it back into the block grid. Every block you break adds points. Clear the remaining blocks to finish the wave and open the next level.
The board uses four colored rows. Some blocks need more than one hit, and TNT blocks damage nearby blocks when they break. Later levels use different patterns and faster ball movement.
Keyboard, mouse, and touch controls
On desktop, move with the left and right arrow keys or A and D. Press Space or ↑ to launch a parked ball. During a run, Space or Esc pauses the game.
On a phone or tablet, drag across the playfield to follow the ball. Tap the playfield to launch. You can also use the pause, sound, and fullscreen buttons above the board.
The paddle bounce angle responds to where the ball hits: a hit near the center travels more vertically; a hit near an edge sends the ball farther sideways.
Lives, extra chances, and level rewards
A run starts with three lives, so one missed ball does not end the game. The run also offers one optional second chance after your last starting life. You can end the run at that screen if you want to save the score immediately.
Extra-life capsules can fall from blocks, and every third cleared level awards a life. The game caps your reserve at five lives. A safety shield can catch one ball that would otherwise leave the bottom of the board.
Catch power-ups to change the run
Some blocks release a capsule when they break. Move the paddle under it to collect the effect. A wider paddle gives you a larger landing area, multi-ball fills the board with extra shots, and the laser lets the paddle fire at blocks.
Slow motion gives you more time to read a bounce. A shield saves one missed ball. An extra-life capsule restores one life. The guide to power-ups and TNT explains each effect in detail.
How a wave ends and your score grows
Break every block in a wave to earn a clear bonus and advance. Each successive level changes the block pattern and increases the ball speed, up to level 150. Combos reward consecutive block hits made before the combo timer runs out.
Your best score stays in this browser. At the end of a run, enter a nickname to submit your result to the online leaderboard. See the scoring and records guide for the point breakdown.
A calm first-run checklist
- Start with the ball parked and move the paddle to the center.
- Launch, then track the ball rather than the blocks.
- Use small, deliberate paddle movements near the bottom of the board.
- Pick up capsules when the ball is already safe to cover.
- Pause if you need a moment to reset your aim.
