Read the ball before moving
Follow the ball’s direction and estimate where it will reach the paddle line. Move early enough to cover that landing point, then make a small correction as the ball gets closer. Chasing the ball with a late full-width swipe makes it easier to overshoot.
When the ball is high in the grid, use the time it spends among the blocks to return the paddle toward the center. That gives you more room to react to either side.
Use the paddle to shape the next bounce
A centered hit tends to send the ball upward. A hit toward either edge adds a stronger sideways angle. Use that angle to send the ball toward a thin gap or an untouched side of the pattern, while keeping a realistic path back to the paddle.
Keyboard movement also adds a small amount of influence to the bounce. Avoid holding a direction through impact unless you want that extra angle.
Keep the combo alive without forcing it
Each block hit refreshes a short combo window. Four hits build the next multiplier tier, up to x6. When the ball is travelling between blocks, the combo timer is still running, so look for the next contact instead of waiting too long to reset your position.
Multi-ball can build a combo quickly, but it also makes the landing paths harder to track. Prioritize the lowest ball when several are moving toward the paddle.
Choose power-ups when the ball is safe
Capsules can make a run easier, but a capsule is not worth losing the ball. If the ball is already travelling high in the playfield, move under a nearby drop. If the ball is close to the paddle, cover the ball first.
A wide paddle and shield help protect a run. Laser and multi-ball can clear a wave faster. Read the power-up guide to choose the effect that suits the current board.
Use TNT to open the pattern
TNT damages blocks nearby when it breaks, and the blast can trigger another TNT block. Look for an explosive surrounded by tougher blocks or other TNT. A chain can clear a section that would otherwise take several separate returns.
When the blast clears blocks, the ball may have a new path through the grid. Move the paddle back toward the likely landing area while the explosion animation plays.
Three habits for a stronger run
- Return to a central paddle position while the ball is high.
- Use edge hits deliberately; use a centered hit when the return is risky.
- Protect the ball first, then catch capsules and chase the combo.
Try the strategy in a live run
Keep your paddle calm and your next bounce in view.
